Dr. Matthew Kwong grew up in Mississauga and graduated in 2001 from the University of Toronto. In 2005, he completed his Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometrists in Boston. He is licensed in the use of topical and oral pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of eye disease as well as orthokeratology. Dr. Kwong approaches each of his patients as a whole person, taking into account a patient's complete lifestyle and health.
Dr. Kwong is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and has been invited numerous times to speak to the public regarding eye health. He also speaks to healthcare providers in efforts of increasing their competence in patient care and the eye. As a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopic Control.
Dr. Kwong has a special interest in nutrition and in the recent epidemic of myopic progression and its control. He is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
Dr. Lauren Hsia grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, and received her Bachelor of Health Sciences Honours degree at McMaster University and her Doctor of Optometry degree, with Dean’s Honours, at the University of Waterloo. During her professional training, she interned at the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Kentucky where she gained significant experience in diagnosing, managing, and treating ocular diseases. Dr. Hsia is qualified in the use of topical and oral therapeutics for the treatment of ocular diseases and is certified to prescribe these treatments in Ontario and British Columbia. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists.
Dr. Hsia is passionate about providing her patients with the highest quality of care and a better understanding of their eye health and vision. She can provide optometric services in English and Mandarin and is gladly accepting new patients. In her spare time, she enjoys cycling, tennis, playing music, volunteering in the community, and traveling.
Dr. Ernest Tang is a graduate of the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. He completed both his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Doctor of Optometry (OD) in 2010. During his fourth-year clinical rotation, he practiced at OMNI Eye Institute in Atlanta Georgia, a leading eye care center in the United States focused on the treatment and management of ocular disease. There, he worked with respected glaucoma, cataract, and retinal surgeons while focusing extensively on therapeutics for the treatment of anterior segment diseases.
Dr.Tang enjoys providing routine care for patients of all ages in private practice. Additionally, he is an optometrist at LASIK MD where numerous surgical procedures including LASIK, PRK, RLE (Refractive Lens Exchange), and more recently, CXL (Corneal Cross-Linking) for patients with Keratoconus are offered. He has provided consultations and post-operative care for over 5000 patients. Having undergone the Advanced Custom LASIK surgery himself, he enjoys both giving advice and sharing his personal experience!
Dr.Tang has been a proud member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO) since 2010.
Dr. Chan completed her Bachelor of Science at McMaster University and Doctor of Optometry with Dean's Honours at the University of Waterloo. She then went on to do a family practice and ocular disease residency at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry for its broad scope of practice. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists. Dr. Chan is committed to providing the highest quality of eye health and vision care. Special clinical interests include ocular disease and contact lenses. She strives to keep up to date with the newest research in optometry and has lectured at conferences.
Dr. Chan is fluent in English and Cantonese. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and traveling.
