Pupil

The pupil is the round black circle in the center of the iris, the colored part of the eye. The pupil is a hole inside the eye that allows light to pass through to the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye, the retina. Pupil testing can reveal serious retinal and neuro-ophthalmic disease as well as issues in your brain, autonomic nervous system, and your eye health.

— the human eye anatomy —

Lens

The lens of the eye, works together with the cornea to focus on objects at varying distances and is visualized with our microscopes and or dilating eye drops.

— the human eye anatomy —

Iris

The iris constricts and dilates to control the light entering the eye. It is unique to each person like a fingerprint.

— the human eye anatomy —

Vitreous

The vitreous is a clear jelly-like fluid that fills the space between the lens and the retina. It adheres to the retina and is responsible for maintaining the shape of the eyeball, and protecting its inner structures.

— the human eye anatomy —

Cornea

The cornea is the transparent part of the eye that covers the front portion of the eye and works with the lens to focus light into the eye. Our doctors can use two corneal topographers to detect pathologies and to aid in advanced contact lenses, scleral lenses, and orthokeratology fitting.

Retinal Blood Vessels

Supplies nutrients to the eye and removes waste from the eye. The Avanti OCT-A is non-invasive visualization of retinal and choroidal vascular structures able to detect blood movement

— the human eye anatomy —

Optic Nerve

The optic nerves relay messages from your eyes to your brain to create visual images. They play a crucial role in your ability to see. Millions of nerve fibers make up each optic nerve. Zeiss HFA-3 technology tracks nerve damage while the wellness scan helps detect early changes in the nerve before they are detectable by the HFA-3.

— the human eye anatomy —

Macula

The macula in the human eye is the place where light is focused by the structures in the front of the eye (cornea & lens). The Avanti wellness scan allows us to see the 10 layers of the retina below the layer seen by the optomap.

— the human eye anatomy —

Retina

The retina converts light that enters into your eye into electrical signals your optic nerve sends to your brain which creates the images you see. The optomap is a digital image of the retina produced by Optos scanning laser technology. It is the only technology that can capture 82% view of your retina at one time without dilation.

The lady optometrist (I do not remember her name) was knowledgeable, and honest, didn't rush the examination, and took time to explain to me about lenses and to answer my questions. The receptionist was professional and fast and got an appointment within a day. Masking is optional for those who choose to wear one. I do recommend this place for its professionalism and for not trying to pressure me into buying any product.
